Who are the Beacon Church?

The Beacon Church, Camberley is a community of believers pursuing a Passion for Christ, Compassion for others whilst involved together in Mission.

The church family is made up of all sorts of different people from Camberley, Farnborough and the surrounding areas. We are part of Newfrontiers, an international network of similar churches committed to making disciples, training leaders and planting churches.

The Beacon is lead by Mark Landreth-Smith together with a talented and committed staff and team of leaders. You are welcome to join us on a Sunday or at a Small Group meeting near you. In addition we have meetings to suit all ages plus special events through out the year. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Our roots...

The Beacon Church began life as a church plant from The Coign Church, Woking in 1995. Mark was on staff there as the Youth Pastor and the elders sent him and Bev and their family to Camberley.

At the time Berkshire Road Evangelical Church were meeting at the building now called The Beacon. Robert Taylor and the existing members generously handed over the building and assets to the new church. A year later the church had grown beyond the Beacon building and moved to Cordwalles School for Sunday mornings.

God continued to grow the church which then relocated again three years later to Kings International School. The Beacon church family met in the drama studio until 2007 when we moved into the sports hall at Kings following a brief sojourn at Collingwood. The sports hall has been specially adapted acoustically for worship.

We believe as we keep in step with the Holy Spirit The Beacon Church family will continue to grow.

What do we believe?

We believe:

  • The bible is truth and we try to base our lives on what it teaches.
  • In the supernatural power and gifts of God’s Holy Spirit whose presence is dynamic and life changing.
  • We should care for one another as a family and community together. God has a glorious purpose for His church worldwide.
  • God wants us to know Him and enjoy Him forever, but our sin makes us guilty before Him.
  • You can come to the living God only through His son Jesus Christ who died in our place.
  • God calls all people to turn from sin, receive Christ’s forgiveness and live for Him, being baptised in water and receiving the Holy Spirit in our lives.

We have a statement of faith in line with the Evangelical Alliance, of which we are a member. The Beacon Church is part of the Newfrontiers family of churches with which we hold a common set of values and share our resources.
