Sunday Mornings

How does a typical Beacon Sunday morning look?

Each Sunday we gather at Kings International College from 10:00am to worship God, enjoy the friendship of each other and receive clear Biblical teaching that equips us to live life to the full.

Order of service

Usually the meeting starts with praise and worship led by the band, followed by some solid bible based teaching from  Mark or the eldership. Sometimes this can lead into a time of ministry and response to what God is saying that morning.

Although the meeting doesn’t follow a set format every week, one of the eldership will ‘anchor’ from the front and steer the meeting, but always remaining open to God’s direction.

Often a member of the church will speak out a prayer or word from God. Sometimes a word will be spoken aloud in tongues, which is then followed by an interpretation.

26 What then shall we say, brothers? When you come together, everyone has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. All of these must be done for the strengthening of the church. 27 If anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. 28 If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and God.

29 Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. 30 And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop. 31 For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. 32 The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets. 33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.

1 Corinthians 14:26-40

Some people may raise their hands in worship or cry out to God. If you are not used to that sort of thing don’t worry there are absolutely no expectations on you to ‘join in’ and you won’t be expected to do anything you are uncomfortable with. We are just glad to have you there!

Kids Church

At some point in the meeting, usually just after the praise and worship, the children will be able to leave to attend their sunday morning events. We provide great facilities for children aged 0 - 11.  These are broken down into different age groups as follows:

Little Lights for 0 to 3
Shakers and Makers for 3-5s

FAST for 5-7s
Kids Church for 7-10s

The Den for 10-12s

Visitors are more than welcome to drop their children off at these groups.

We operate a strictly managed Child Protection Policy and ensure all our children’s workers are screened, CRB checked and attend regular training workshops.

Coffee

After the meeting the cyber café is open to serve free drinks, come and have a coffee and make some new friends.
