Kids work

Family and children play a huge part in the Beacon Church.  We think it is vital that children are rooted in the word of God and learn more and more about the love of God as they grow up in an ever changing society.  We want our children to enjoy Sunday, have fun and make good friends. Every Sunday morning there is children's ministry available with a whole variety of inspiring activities, please read below and see which age group your child is in!

In addition to the comprehensive children's ministries available on Sunday mornings, we also run a variety of mid-week activities. We operate a strictly managed Child Protection Policy and ensure all our children’s workers are screened, CRB checked and attend regular training workshops.

Children's Ministry on a Sunday Morning

All children spend the first 30 minutes of the morning in the main service with their families for worship. Then they are taken to their own teaching groups.

Little Lights (under 3's)

Led by Sarah Cooper, Little Lights follows an exciting routine with songs, puppets and games, free play and craft activities used to demonstrate God's love to babies and toddlers.

Shakers and Makers  (3-4 year olds)

This group, led by Rachel Bryan, works through the bible stories in their own bibles presented to them when they join the group. This involves, games, craft, stories, singing, drama and prayers. Each week they learn a simple truth about God and the bible.

F.A.S.T (5 and 6 s')

FAST is led by Bernie Warren. This group follows the Scripture Union curriculum Splash. Again like Bubbles, it uses games, craft, stories, singing and prayers. These children will learn the stories in more depth.

Kid's Church  (school years 3 to 6   ie 7-10 year olds)

Kids Church is lead by Andy Wayland. It is a fun environment where games feature alot and more life application teaching is done.  Bible truths are communicated by using powerpoint and film.

The DEN  (school years 6-8  ie 11- 13 year olds)

This is our preteen group, led by Roey Nickson. The Scripture Union curriculum The Grid is used. With children of this age, discussion is a vital part of the morning's teaching which will use  powerpoint, film and drama to communicate the truths of God and spur these young people to live their lives for Jesus.

Year 9s
We have a new ministry for this age group. Once a month on a Sunday morning all Year 9s will be going out for their own discussion group which will be led by Ross and Emma Phillps.

Mid-week  Children's ministry
